    Courses In Private Investigations

Training Schedule for 2014

Academy Statement of Purpose

To provide professional, sound investigative training to individuals at all levels of their investigative careers. To sponsor and host both private and public sector investigative and protective trainings, seminars, and instructional programs, in order to produce professional, ethical and detailed investigators the sectors requiring their services. Many individuals wish to get a sound start in an investigative career, but don't know where to go to get sound knowledge. Many "security academies" teach handcuffing, "TV gumshoe" surveillance, or basic physical techniques to use to physically disarm an offender. Many graduates of these programs lack the sufficient amount of time needed to train themselves to make such training smooth and automatic. Although we do provide  proper basic instruction on restraining techniques, we focus on providing the student with the proper knowledge to make the right decisions, which often result in that investigator  avoiding the need to restrain someone. A thinking investigator  evaluates the circumstances in order to make the right decision before leaping into action.

Why Fidelity Academy?

There are many online Private Detective Courses, Home Study Private Detective Courses, and even some Colleges are offering courses in Private Investigation. So what makes Fidelity Academy a better choice?

     There are some things you need to know;

 1. The State of Illinois requires certified training in a state-approved course of study by a Licensed Private Detective or Private Detective Agency, before you can work in private investigations in Illinois.

2. The State of Illinois does not accept online courses or home study courses as meeting the state-mandated training requirements in Private Investigations.

3. A college diploma or degree is NOT a substitute for the state-mandated training. Even if you spend thousands of dollars in a career college in their private investigations course, you will still need to complete a State of Illinois approved 20 Hour Private Detective Employee Course.

4. You do NOT need to spend thousands of dollars on a course in Private Investigations from a career college or online college program, to start working in private investigations in Illinois - you DO need to complete a 20 Hour Private Detective Employee Course and get your PERC Card. We can help you do both!

Private Detective Internship Program

The Private Detective Intern Program is designed to allow individuals who have completed the basic twenty-hour private detective employee course to work under the license of a private detective as an intern within the detective agency. This program will allow the intern to gain practical experience as a private detective employee, and gain time in grade towards qualifying to sit for the State of Illinois’ Private Detective Licensing Examination.

Interns pay of fee of $ 100.00 per month, every month they participate in the program, to offset the expense of insurance, as interns will be operating under an actual detective agency. Interns will be expected to complete certain coursework, which shall be free of charge (except for any outside expenses), online and in-academy classes, and field exercises that will familiarize the intern with the various sources of information available.

Interns may also be assigned investigative tasks during actual cases, and in such cases will be paid for their services, although the purpose of this program is not primarily to provide regular employment, but rather to provide time-in-grade towards sitting for the exam, training and skill refinement.

An internship may be for a one, two or three year period of time, as determined by the student. An internship may be terminated at any time by a student, or by the Program Director, if the student becomes ineligible to continue to work or fails to perform adequately.

Interns may dedicate as much or as little time as they wish to the program each month, but must remain active for time-in-grade considerations. Basic requirements for interns are as follows:

-          Must have completed the 20 Hour Private Detective Employee Course of Study.

-          Must have obtained and maintain a valid PERC Card.

-          Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License.

-          Must have a reliable vehicle.

-          Must be able to dedicate time (10 – 20 hours per week) to complete coursework attend classes and engage in field activities.

The Private Detective Intern Program is unique, and there is currently no program like it anywhere in the State of Illinois, in which investigative students actually work for an investigative agency, gain time-in-grade, learn and gain a top-notch investigative education. Unlike college vocational diplomas or criminal justice degrees, this program is licensed by the State of Illinois, Dept. of Professional Regulation, and fully managed by a Licensed Private Detective, which will directly prepare the student and provide the actual, specific skills they will need in this field.

Duration: One, Two and Three Year Internships

Course Tuition: $ 100.00/month
